Job Description

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead our HR function. You’ll serve as a key member of the leadership team, carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, policy implementation, affirmative action, employment law compliance, performance management, and oversight of talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development, and people operations. This is a foundational role with direct ownership of the HR function, with plans to report into a Chief Human Resources Officer in the future.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives and ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Create, manage and implement the company’s retention strategy with Executive Management input. 
  • Prepare the HR function for scale by implementing HRIS systems, policies, and frameworks.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and advisors – such as Executive Management, department managers, legal counsel, etc. - on employee relations, organizational development, and change management.
  • Design and implement scalable people programs across performance management, L&D, engagement, DEI, compensation, and benefits.
  • Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals across talent acquisition, employee experience, people operations, and talent development.
  • Annually review and make recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Develop and administer human resource plans and procedures for all personnel.
  • Evaluate, oversee and coordinate benefits plan and administration, including company’s 401k plan.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain HR-related company documentation such as organization charts, employee directory, workflow processes, employee handbook, etc.
  • Process confidential personnel information related to compensation, employee evaluation, disciplinary action, termination, etc. 
  • Build and analyze HR dashboards and reporting to inform decision-making and measure program effectiveness.
  • Assist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department, role, and subordinate’s roles.
  • Participate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned. 

 

What’ll Set You Up for Success

 

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in an HR leadership role.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech or SaaS company is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing HR teams.
  • Strong natural leadership abilities that encourage a team-based environment, and an excellent track record in achieving a positive impact on both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to easily balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. 
  • Ability to create and maintain the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
  • Expertise across a wide range of HR domains: talent acquisition, compliance, employee relations, performance, engagement, DEI, etc.
  • Strong business acumen and a data-driven approach to HR strategy.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Comfortable working hands-on while also operating strategically.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.

  • The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000.
