Your role as a Data Engineer in Test is to ensure high-quality data pipelines, transformations, and integrations by developing robust automated tests and validation frameworks. You will support our data engineering teams in delivering reliable, accurate, and scalable data solutions.
What you'll do:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks for data pipelines and to validate data integrity, schema conformity, and transformation logic.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and QA to identify quality risks and testing requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues and work with teams to resolve them.
- Monitor data pipelines in production to detect anomalies and data quality regressions.
- Implement synthetic and real-world data tests across various ingestion layers.
- Integrate test frameworks with CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Contribute to data quality metrics and dashboards for visibility and alerting.
What you'll bring:
- Proficient in Python or Scala, especially for data manipulation and test scripting.
- Strong experience with SQL for writing test queries and validating large datasets.
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Spark).
- Understanding of data warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and version control (Git).
- Comfortable working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS,) and data storage systems (S3).
Nice to have:
- Experience with CI/CD
- Experience with non-functional testing (eg. load, performance, stress, pen)
- Docker / Containerization
- Experience with testing web-based products
