Description

American Endovascular is seeking a Full Time licensed Medical Assistant in Long Island City to assist nursing home patients. The role involves traveling with patients from their nursing home to the vascular center for treatment, ensuring they are prepped for procedures in advance, verifying transportation arrangements, and confirming that patients have not eaten before their appointments.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Transportation: Escort patients from nursing homes to vascular centers and back.
  2. Pre-Appointment Preparation: Visit nursing homes prior to appointment dates to ensure patients are prepped for procedures, including confirming that they haven't eaten and that all necessary paperwork is completed.
  3. Coordination: Arrange and confirm transportation logistics for patients.
  4. Patient Care: Assist patients with mobility and ensure their comfort during transport and at appointments.
  5. Communication: Act as a liaison between nursing home staff, patients, and vascular center staff to ensure smooth coordination.
  6. Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)


Availability:

  • Full Time; flexible hours depending on patient appointments and needs.
  • Availability early am to evening. ( No weekends).


Location:

  • Travel required between nursing homes and vascular centers.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Certified Medical Assistant: Certification required.
  2. Experience: Previous experience working in a medical or caregiving role preferred.
  3. Driving License: Valid driver's license and good driving record. Must have your own Vehicle. 
  4. Skills: Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills.
  5. Physical Ability: Ability to assist with patient mobility and handle long periods of driving and standing.
  6. Work Location: Multiple nursing home locations.
  7. Must own a vehicle.
