The Role
The Senior Financial Reporting & Process Transformation Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the SEC financial reporting and developing a robust internal control framework for processes relevant to financial reporting. The role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams, contributing to the preparation of our SEC reporting requirements, including 10K, 10Q, external financial statements, disclosures, internal control framework for SOX readiness, and other critical reports for external stakeholders. The role will also be overseeing all aspects of technical accounting under USGAAP.
Key Responsibilites
- Define the vision and strategic direction to build a world-class financial reporting function
- Develop the roadmap to meet all SEC reporting requirements, including accelerated reporting timeline and work with the Internal Audit Leaders on SOX certification
- Collaborate with the financial reporting team for the preparation and filing of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with United States GAAP
- Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders by researching and applying US GAAP to unique, significant, and/or non-routine transactions, including our product, corporate development, and legal teams
- Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting and reporting conclusions for complex business transactions
- Partner with and support business, finance, and tax teams on new products and initiatives
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement effective processes and controls in these areas, and lead finance initiatives to assess the effectiveness of these controls on an ongoing basis
- Optimize the use of tools and accounting-related systems to leverage automation and create efficiencies in the financial reporting process
- Work collaboratively across the accounting leadership team on continuous improvement on accounting controls and processes
- Manage relationships with external auditors, coordinating audit processes, and ensuring a smooth and efficient audit cycle
- Promote a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Certified Public Accountant designation or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience
Bonus Points
- Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and industry experience at a tech company
- Prior experience in one of our core industries (i.e. Gaming, Media & Entertainment, and Financial Services)
- Experience in developing policies, procedures, and accounting practices
- Expert in SEC reporting rules
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced tech environment, particularly during growth
- Tech savvy and seek to utilize technology to drive efficiencies
- Resourceful and “roll up your sleeves” to make things happen
Salary Range
- 128000 - 165000 CAD, per-year-salary
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several Global markets. The salary for this position ranges from $128,000/year up to $165000/year. Pay is based on several factors evaluated throughout the interview, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At GeoComply, our salary bands are crafted with purpose.
