Job Description

About GeoComply

We’re GeoComply! We are at the forefront of geolocation, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud innovation, developing and delivering cutting-edge technologies to help ensure regulatory compliance, combat bad online actors, alleviate user friction, and protect businesses from fraud.

Achieving significant business and revenue growth over the past three years and dubbed a tech “Unicorn,” GeoComply has been trusted by leading global brands and regulators for over ten years. Our compliance-grade geolocation technology solutions are installed on over 400 million devices and analyze over 12 billion transactions a year.

At the heart of it all is the people, united by a deep commitment to problem-solving and revolutionizing how people and businesses use the internet to instill confidence in every online interaction. With teams across five countries, three continents, and a global customer base, we have no plans to slow down.

The Role

We are the IDComply team. We are a small, dynamic team of Senior Engineers, and we are looking for a new Senior Software Engineer.

Last year our product went from serving hundreds of thousands of users to millions of users. We need your help to reach tens of millions in 2025.

Most of our code is written in PHP, but we like our code and architecture clean. Our system is object-oriented, and we use design patterns and clean abstractions to maintain healthy test coverage. We value simple, elegant, and powerful designs over producing thousands of lines of redundant code.

In order to scale while maintaining high availability, we are taking care of our infrastructure: improving our CICD process and autoscaling (Github Actions, ArgoCD, and K8S), moving to managed cloud services (AWS) and fine-tuning the monitoring and alerting.

In your day-to-day work, you will work closely with the product team and participate in shaping our strategic direction.
You will also be working closely with other engineering teams: native SDKs (Android and iOS), machine learning (Neural Networks, Computer Vision, Behavioral Analytics), data science (Databricks, Neo4j, Druid) and more. This is a good opportunity to learn - and potentially dip your toes in something new. We are just getting started - come and join us for an exciting journey!

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust software solutions that meet high standards of reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices in software engineering.
  • Ensure system stability and performance by conducting thorough testing, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing effective and timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, understand user needs, and align on project goals.
  • Take ownership of establishing and refining engineering processes, tools, and workflows to improve team efficiency and productivity.
  • Advocate for the adoption of modern tools, technologies, and practices that align with the team’s goals.
  • Bring innovative solutions and fresh perspectives to technical and product challenges.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to enhance team performance.

Who You Are

  • Educational and Technical Foundation: Solid foundation in computer science, supported by practical experience in programming.
  • Proficiency in Key Technologies: Extensive experience with: PHP (Laravel 8.0+ framework), JavaScript, MongoDB, Docker.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Adaptability and Learning Mindset: Enthusiasm for learning and working with new technologies, including: Golang, AWS, Kubernetes
  • Good understanding of Design Patterns and best practices. You understand not only how to use frameworks, but also how they work and why they are built the way they are.
  • System Design Expertise: Strong understanding of system design principles and software architecture, with the ability to build scalable, maintainable solutions.

Bonus Points

  • Vue or React
  • PostgreSQL
  • GoLang or Python
