CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Senior Software Engineer who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Responsibilities:

  • Guide, support and mentor junior developers on proper software development procedures and methods
  • Solve complex technical problems and transform them into business solutions
  • Lead code and design reviews
  • Design and development with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability and performance
  • Work with product managers to learn the future business direction with the goal of architecting the platform optimally
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop project plans and participate in resource planning
  • Provide required support and troubleshoot production
  • Follow the company's development and operational standards and processes
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience
  • Proven experience with development at scale -- high throughput, low latency
  • Fluency in one or more of Python, Java, or C#, with the desire to learn more
  • Experience with: 
    • Continuous deployment
    • Relational database (RDBMS) schema design in one or more of MySQL, PostgreSQL
    • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins
    • Version control: Git
  • Hands on experience in developing HTTP REST backends and designing event-driven architectures
  • Comfortable working with cloud services, specifically AWS:
    • EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS (Postgres), DynamoDB, StepFunctions, SecretsManager
  • Knowledgeable of containerization technologies (specifically Docker)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Nice to have:

  • NoSQL database design in one or more of DynamoDB, Cassandra
  • AWS deployment descriptor: Cloudformation, Terraform
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Experience with React and their ecosystem (e.g., Redux, React Router).
