PURPOSE OF JOB: 

The financial analyst will be an integral part of the growing FP&A team.  Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this role will primarily be responsible for partnering with business leaders across the R&D and G&A functions to build and maintain operating expense forecasts to help drive strategic business decisions.  This role will have the opportunity to help craft executive presentations and build out financial models to support company expansion.  The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, excellent communication, and the desire to grow and develop with the role.

This position will offer a hybrid work schedule which is generally defined as 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely. In office days will be at our corporate offices in San Mateo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with R&D and G&A leaders to develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts
• Prepare variance analysis and investigate root causes of variances to plan
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate expense accruals
• Create ad hoc financial models to support operational decisions
• Assist in creation of executive and board (BOD) presentations
• Additional projects and duties as assigned

 SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
• Experience working on multiple projects with different stakeholders and deadlines
• Sound analytical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Experience with Vena or other planning systems (e.g. Adaptive, Planful) 
• Familiarity with ERPs such as NetSuite and HCM systems such as ADP Workforce Now

REQUIRED EDUCATION: 

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or High School diploma and equivalent work experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or accounting
