About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and a hands-on approach to work. This is a full-time role.
The place of work is located at our office in Leuven or Ieper. Hybrid model up to 3 times a week
Essential Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare payments to vendors, ensuring segregation of duties for compliance.
- Handle bank statement reconciliations, including payments to vendors and employees.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and support senior finance and accounting colleagues with various tasks as needed.
Experience
- Ideally, you bring initial experience in accounting.
- Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
- Independent and self-motivated worker with a “can-do” mentality.
- Strong integrity, high attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of European GAAP or familiarity with U.S. GAAP is a plus.
- Experience in an international setting or working as a subsidiary of a U.S. company is preferred.
- Complete Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related fields
