Job Description
This job is for candidates with an aptitude for developing and negotiating business relationships in tech, especially B2B contracts.
Compensation
Starting at approximately $150k per year plus stock options vesting over 5 years, along with healthcare benefits. Raises may also become available with good individual performance or team-wide accomplishments that expand our revenue stream. We also offer a Safe-Harbor 401(k) with the IRS maximum employer matching.
Location
Berkeley / SF bay area. We work in-person at our office in Berkeley for three days per week, and on other days we have the option of working from the office or from home.
Qualifications
An aptitude for:
- organizing small and medium-sized meetings and events for networking,
- exploring business opportunities between companies,
- sales calls with businesses we want to try supporting,
- purchasing calls with businesses whose services we want to buy,
- understanding technical implementation challenges in software development plans,
- carefully reading and drafting legal contracts,
- friendly communications that encourage coooperation without over-promising,
- respecting our company priorities and values determining what we do, how we scale, and how we keep our business sustainable.
Sound social judgment for deciding when and how to be
- assertive? flexible?
- appreciative? critical?
- apologetic? forgiving?
- patient? eager? demanding?
Comfort and proficiency with
- telephone, email, instant messaging, and various other modes of communication;
- time-tracking apps for logging which clients or projects you are engaging with and when;
- spreadsheets for organizing and reporting on responsibilities.
Curiosity and capacity for
- learning and understanding the responsibilities of third-parties such as hospitals, doctors' offices, and other tech companies, so you know what's reasonable to expect from them and how to ask for and offer things;
- researching online to find businesses and professionals we'd like to explore deal with;
- practicing verbal communication in training scenarios for potentially difficult tasks; and
- juggling your own responsibilities responsibly according to the changing needs of our clients and business, which sometimes means saying no to new tasks when overloaded.
The following are not required, but our team will welcome and make good use of experience with:
- prompt engineering for language models,
- research in a professional capacity (e.g., internships), and/or
- working in the healthcare industry.
