Job Description
Our engineering team is looking for a pet friendly, experienced, self-motivated developer to help us build our next generation web properties and web-based mobile applications for our pet health and GPS trackers.
This is a 100% remote position based in US Central Time (CST/CDT). International candidates are encouraged to apply.
How you'll improve the lives of pets and humans
- Design, develop and maintain highly responsive, reusable UI components using React concepts
- Write mobile and web application interface codes using JavaScript following React.js workflows
- Collaborate with our hardware / low level software engineers on HW/SW interactions and communications with external devices, databases, and third party APIs
- Collaborate with our design team to develop fun, easy-to-use interfaces
- Diagnose and debug real-time software systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Report directly to our CTO
Essential skills
- 3+ years of recent experience working as a React.js developer
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML and front-end languages
- Experience with Webpack and Babel-based React applications
- Experience with Next.js and headless ecommerce / CMS frameworks
- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks such as Mocha and Jest
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, XML/JSON
- Experience building engaging, animated user interfaces
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable code
Desirable skills
- Experience with React CSS transitions and Framer Motion
- Experience with Bluetooth, maps and web communication protocols
- Previous experience at a product company or development agency
- BA, BS, or MS in related fields of application
Bonus points for
- Experience developing native Java Android applications and Objective-C / Swift iOS
- Experience with smartwatch development (e.g. Apple Watch, Fitbit)
- Experience with React Native development
