changing the way people sleep forever and for the better.

Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, we have been recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in 2018, 2022 and 2023.

Our temperature-regulated technology, the Pod, is an absolute game changer, improving people's health and happiness by changing the way they sleep. The Pod was also recognized two years in a row by TIME's “Best Inventions of the Year.” It is available for purchase in North America (the United States and Canada) and throughout the United Kingdom, Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Denmark) and Australia via eightsleep.com. We’re excited by the success of the Pod to date and still have a long way to go toward achieving our mission.

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to bring new products to market. You’ll be part of a small, mission-driven team and have significant ownership over decisions. Some days you’ll be rigging up Arduino prototypes, other days you’ll be designing PCBAs for mass production in Asia. We’re growing quickly so there are ample opportunities for career growth.

This role requires in office work at our San Francisco office 3-4 days a week.

How you’ll contribute

  • Design consumer electronic devices incorporating microcontrollers, SoCs, wireless transceivers, motor drivers, sensors, audio, and LED drivers

  • Lead electrical system development including schematic capture, layout, bring-up and characterization, production test infrastructure, and reliability testing

  • Collaborate extensively with mechanical engineering, embedded software, industrial design, and product team members, as well as our manufacturing team and network of overseas suppliers

  • Generate novel ideas and prototype new product concepts and architectures to define our path forward

What you need to succeed

  • 3-5 years of experience designing mixed analog and digital systems for consumer electronics or similar applications

  • Highly proficient with ECAD packages, especially Altium

  • Expertise with SMT and flex PCB manufacturing processes

  • Understanding of DOE, root cause, statistical analysis and other quality measuring techniques

  • BSEE or equivalent - MS preferred

Why you’ll love Eight

  • We’re a tight-knit, passionate team that’s working to impact people’s lives by improving the way they sleep

  • Leadership is committed to employees’ wellness and career development

  • You’ll get a better night's sleep every night; all full-time employees receive the Pod

  • Flexible PTO

  • 100% employer contribution for medical/dental/vision insurance

  • Role ownership, and uncapped growth opportunities
