Position Summary
Canvas Ventures is seeking a Venture Fellow to join our team. In this role you will have the opportunity to build relationships and work closely with a tight-knit investment team, including the General Partners, by serving as a liaison between the firm and campus events. You will conduct research, create market maps and gain exposure to early-stage deal flow. As an active member on campus and in the greater tech community you will help build the Canvas brand at events and in the venture ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between Canvas Ventures and campus community by attending pitch sessions, entrepreneur events, and hosting unique events related to venture capital and entrepreneurship
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating prospective investment opportunities by conducting research, creating market maps and running financial analysis
- Drive development and growth of core investment thesis areas
- Cultivate a diverse network of early-stage entrepreneurs and venture capitalists
- Support Canvas portfolio companies as needed
- Represent Canvas in the broader industry and venture/tech community
- Complete special projects for the investment partners as assigned
Ideal Experience
- Prior experience in technology/startups (preferably in product/strategy/business development/corporate development), management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital
- Proven ability to be self-directed and work autonomously, detail oriented and highly organized
- Demonstrated leadership experience in both professional and academic environments
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Deep knowledge, point of view and interest in emerging technology startups
This is an unpaid internship for the 2023-2024 academic year
