Job Summary
We are seeking eager and talented Legal Counsel - Commercial to join the Legal Team at MX. The Legal Counsel - Commercial will support MX by providing legal support throughout the company, including transactional, employment, regulatory and compliance responsibilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with internal legal experts, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to drive business growth and success.
Job Duties

Provide legal support and guidance to the Enterprise Sales Team and the Procurement Team throughout the sales/procurement cycle, including contract drafting, review, negotiation, and management.

Collaborate with the Enterprise Sales, Finance, and other MX Teams to ensure that proposed deals comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Assist in the development and improvement of templates across the company, including for the Enterprise Sales, Partnerships, People, and other MX Teams.

Develop and improve processes, policies, and standard operating procedures to streamline legal and compliance workflows.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of state employment laws and protections relating to employment.

Manage and improve the contract management system, including auditing of contracts, improving reports and working with various stakeholders to collect and maintain key business terms in a readily available and consumable fashion.
Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association.

3+ years of industry experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, including contract negotiation, legal research, and litigation experience related to employment law preferred.

Experience creating, scaling, and maintaining policies and processes to streamline and simplify internal functions.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong desire to learn legal skills and best practices and to develop as an attorney.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
