We are looking for an Equity Administrator. As an Equity Administrator, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day administration of our global equity plans, ensuring accuracy of employee records and compliance with reporting deadlines. You will play an integral part in communicating with and educating employees about their employee stock benefits. In this job, you will have the opportunity to enhance the Company’s equity administration process and collaborate cross functionally with a variety of stakeholders in a high-growth, high-tech company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end equity administration process, including timely recording of transactions on employee records for grants, exercises, terminations, releases and other matters;
- Coordinate cross functionally with HR, payroll, recruiting, tax, legal and financial reporting to create accurate equity deliverables for the board of directors, senior management, payroll providers, SEC reporting, and other country reporting requirements;
- Provide ongoing equity education to our employees, including acting as the primary contact for all equity related matters and requests;
- Administer the Board of Director grants in conjunction with our Non-Employee Director Compensation Policy;
- Maintain compliance with all SEC equity ownership filings (e.g. Forms 3/4) and assist in the facilitation of 10b5-1 plan requests;
- Assist in preparing materials for the Compensation Committee and management;
- Provide functional expertise to support the analysis of market and competitive equity programs and onboarding of new employees via corporate transactions;
- Maintain responsibility for SOX controls associated with the equity administration process and work with internal and external auditors to facilitate requests for quarterly reviews and the annual audit process;
- Manage the vendor relationship with outside service providers associated with all equity transactions;
- Develop the compensation backup to support the Company’s proxy statement;
- Maintain trading blackout periods, pre-clearance and tracking of insider trading
- Prepare year-end tax statements and IRS Section 6039 filings
- Act as the primary contact for future system integrations with our equity platform; and
- Support the Office of the Global Controller in special projects as needed.
You’d be a good fit with:
- 8+ years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of equity administration experience at a public company
- High competency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated with the ability to meet project deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field

- E*Trade experience preferred
- International equity administration background preferred
- Knowledge of stock-based compensation U.S. GAAP literature
- Experience with SaaS and high growth technology companies preferred
- Strong desire and ability to develop new skills quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to continuously improve processes
Location: This position can work onsite or hybrid from one of our offices (College Park, MD, Bothell, WA) or fully remote in the US.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $94,294 - $122,963. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
Compensation will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Beyond base salary, total compensation includes a variable bonus and equity component and a range of benefit options found on our career site at ionq.co/jobs. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, Toronto, Canada, and Basel, Switzerland.
