Job Description
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture Business Partners & Generalists – Retail, the People & Culture Business Partner, Retail East will provide thought partnership to our Vuori stores teams in the areas of talent management, organizational design and effectiveness, employee engagement, and ensuring our Vuori culture is thriving. You will contribute to building all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will partner with store leadership to execute strategies in areas like coaching/development, organizational design, succession planning, talent assessment and development, compensation, and employee relations.
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance and the creation, execution, and tracking of People metrics to support business decisions.
What you'll get to do:
- Be a thought partner to store leadership and team members and demonstrate success in assessing organizational health of store work environments, employee relations, coaching, performance management, career development, retention, and rewards programs.
- Determine ways to continue to leverage our strengths and identify opportunities either across the fleet, within a district, or at a store level while finding the right balance between speed and process/compliance. Recommend creative solutions.
- Manage routine to complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and partners with ER team and leadership to recommend appropriate action to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
- Partner with the Recruiting Team to identify strengths and opportunities in our hiring process, assessment of talent, and ways to improve stores capabilities in identifying and hiring top talent.
- Identify ways to create data that will be most impactful to our stores and influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations.
- Be an enthusiastic partner to the stores team, collaborate, and have a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
- Be able to work independently and exercise excellent judgment, as well as be an active member of both the store leadership and our People and Culture team.
- Partner with the Director of People & Culture, Retail on developing and implementing engagement tools to increase morale.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal department as needed/required.
- Collaborate with other areas of the People & Culture Team on the implementation and rollout of plans, programs and policies.
Qualifications
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR or Business, or equivalent experience needed.
- 5+ years of relevant HR generalist/business partner experience in dynamic, fast-paced organizations.
- Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws (i.e.: EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Well organized, plans effectively and prioritizes time according to what is most impactful.
- Dependable and can be relied upon to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Strong interviewing/fact finding and decision-making skills.
- Strong conflict management skills with demonstrated understanding of interpersonal relationship building.
- Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Relevant Retail experience required.
