Who We Are:
Founded in 2020, Positive Development is proud to be the leading provider of developmental therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder. At the core of what we do is our clinical team, providing developmental interventions and combining parent support with a set of services that increase social and emotional engagement for our clients. At every level of our care model, our team delivers a play-based and family-centered experience for all to thrive.

What You’ll Do:
As a Child Autism Specialist, you will work 1:1 with neurodivergent children and adolescents using an individualized, developmental, and relationship-based therapeutic approach. Unlike other models, we do not focus on behaviors but instead we focus on growth through meaningful connection and interaction. Following a personalized individual treatment plan, you will:

  • Create safe and trusting relationships by demonstrating empathy and a holistic understanding of your client’s developmental needs – including their emotional, social, and mental health needs.
  • Following Positive Development’s method, you will work on self-regulation, social skills, daily living skills, emotion recognition, and problem solving through play-based techniques.
  • Adapt to a client’s home environment and assist with the development of meaningful interactions and routines in their most natural setting as well as throughout their community.
  • Document clinical notes in a professional manner after each session, detailing all notable progress towards goals.
  • Work on a multidisciplinary team with DIRFloortime certified clinicians and clinical supervisors, becoming an expert in a new model of autism care which requires relational interventions with fewer hours in session than standard approaches to improve clinical outcomes.

Job Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a human services field is required – child development, special education, psychology, occupational therapy, marriage and family therapy, speech and language pathology, sociology, etc.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working directly with children and adolescents in either a clinical outpatient setting, school-based setting, licensed childcare center, in-home environment, or equivalent.
  • Passion for pediatric therapy and proficiency in the stages of child development.
  • An understanding of autism spectrum disorder and other related developmental disabilities – experience is strongly preferred, or a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to follow an individual treatment plan (ITP) and record professionally written clinical notes using medical recording software.
  • Ability to commute with a reliable source of transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • A physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and ensure client safety by urgently responding to clients’ needs including but not limited to running, crouching, kneeling, and pro-longed sitting.
  • Must be able to commit to early afternoon to evening sessions during the weekday – Saturday sessions are available however are optional.

  • 401k with Employer Match
  • Paid Training
  • Referral Bonus Program ($500)
