This role will not only help you build your technical skills but also enhance your leadership and people management abilities as you engage with individuals at all levels of seniority.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate the latest AI trends, exploring their potential impact on banking.
- Partner with startups and external innovators to integrate groundbreaking AI solutions.
- Work closely with senior management to ensure AI initiatives align with the bank’s overall strategic vision.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions across various banking functions.
- Identify and leverage opportunities to optimise processes, manage risks, and enhance the customer experience using AI technologies.
Skills we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Generative AI experience is essential for this role
- Strong knowledge of AI technologies, including LLMs, machine learning, natural language processing, and automation.
- The ability to translate AI research into practical banking solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with startups and senior management.
- A sharp analytical mind with problem-solving expertise.
- Hard-working, motivated, and proactive.

Our story
OakNorth Bank was built on the foundations of frustrations with old-school banking. In 2005, when our founders tried to get capital for their data analytics company, the computer said ‘no’. Unfortunately, all major banks in the UK were using the same computer – and it was broken.
