Job Description

As the RPA Development Lead you will play a foundational role in designing, developing, and scaling intelligent automation solutions across the organization. As part of this role you will lead the technical execution of RPA initiatives, serve as the key liaison between business and technical stakeholders, and establish delivery best practices to ensure long-term program success.

This is a hybrid role that combines technical hands-on development with leadership, governance, and delivery oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of automation workflows using enterprise RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism).
  • Translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Act as the primary interface for stakeholder management and issue escalation throughout the automation lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and oversee implementation efforts by development pods, in collaboration with the CoE or automation program leadership.
  • Conduct detailed process assessments to identify automation opportunities and define technical specifications.
  • Establish and enforce RPA development best practices, including governance, documentation standards, and code quality guidelines.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior developers (internal or vendor resources) as the team scales.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and SDLC practices throughout all phases of development.
  • Collaborate with IT and business functions to ensure smooth integration of RPA bots with existing systems.
  • Stay current on advancements in RPA, AI, cognitive services, and intelligent automation to propose innovative solutions.
  • Support proposal creation, solution design, and Statement of Work (SOW) development as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in RPA software development or process automation, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or RPA lead capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience in designing and deploying automations with tools such as UiPath (preferred), Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as VB.NET, C#, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of automation frameworks (e.g., REFramework)
  • Experience managing full RPA development lifecycle and troubleshooting deployed bots for performance and stability.
  • Solid experience with Agile methodologies and traditional SDLC approaches.
  • RPA certification (UiPath Advanced RPA Developer, Automation Anywhere Master, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD practices, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to break down complex business problems into automation-ready use cases.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and team mentoring.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities.
