Position: Senior Actuarial Analyst
Role summary
- Report to VP of actuarial services
- Collaborates with team members from strategy, clinical and new market functions to identify data driven opportunities to add value to existing and potential partners
- Use analytical tools to identify meaningful trend drivers, with linkage to financial results
- Presents models during workgroup calls and explains analyses to diverse audience
- Meet in person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing healthcare claims data
- Develop, maintain, and analyze projections models
- Reconcile actuarial inputs and outputs
- Coordinate with external actuaries and assist with quarterly revenue reconciliation
- Maintain valuation model for opportunity analysis
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field
- 4 actuarial exams completed
- 3-5 years healthcare experience
- Knowledge of healthcare and/or managed care industry
- Proficiency in MS Excel for building actuarial models
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, analysis development, data warehousing, and decision tools
- Strong familiarity with SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or R
- Experience in Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare analysis
- Experience with CMS shared savings programs
- Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in ambiguity; desire to be a self-starter
