The Role: As a member of our Hardware team, you’ll be contributing to the design, development, validation and verification of electrical components for our current and next generation robotics system. From actuators design to system power distribution, you’ll get to work on all aspects of our surgical robots.
What you’ll do:

Development of initial prototypes and R&D demonstrator, towards improved performances and/or reliability of electrical and electronics components.

Conduct verification and validation testing of electrical components to ensure safety and reliability of our system.

Conduct root-cause analysis and troubleshooting following product reports.

Maintain effective communications with supervisor and peers in daily activities.

Follow all applicable Quality and Safety procedures and Good Documentation Practices.

Ensures that all activities are carried out within regulations and laws governing business and quality operations
What you’ll bring:
-
BS degree Electrical Engineering required
-
Proficient in use of and maintaining laboratory equipment (power supply, oscilloscope, multimeter, solder station, signal generator)

Proficient in Schematic design, PCB layout, PCBs bring-up and prototyping (Altium preferred).

Experience working with motors, encoders and other sensors.

Familiar with embedded electronic design and firmware development.

Understanding of EMI/EMC and electrical safety.

Self starter with excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal skills with the ability to self-direct required

Experience interfacing with and managing external resources
What else?
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
This job operates in a professional office/manufacturing/clinical environment. The main location of this role is in a medical devices manufacturing facility and requires:
- The regular use of CMMs and machining equipment, and occasional use of CBCT scanners
- Prolonged periods working on a computer
- Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
- Frequent exposure to loud/moderate noise
