Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity

Revolution Medicines is seeking a motivated individual to play a critical role within the organization as the Corporate Counsel, Contracts. This role will be instrumental in the success of the Company’s legal team in its support of the future growth of the Company. This role will join RevMed’s collaborative legal team with a focus on legal contracts, including negotiation of new contracts, interpretation of and compliance with active contracts and development and management of the Company’s contract management system.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts for multiple RevMed functional areas, which depending on RevMed’s evolving business, may include service agreements, commercial agreements, consulting agreements, clinical trial agreements, sponsored research agreements, MTAs, and NDAs.

  • Advise RevMed’s business team on compliance with the terms of active contracts, with the ability to interpret and discuss complex legal concepts in a pragmatic way that results in actionable business advice.

  • Assist with the organization and storage of contracts, including overseeing development and management of RevMed’s contract management system.

  • Follow and implement departmental processes to maintain transparency of legal review and negotiation for internal stakeholders and track the status of current contracts.

  • Collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure contracts align with those needs.

  • Identify risks and efficiently communicate those risks to internal stakeholders for discussion and resolution.

  • Assist in training and guiding business teams in the use of contract templates, processes, and best practices.

  • Coordinate with the RevMed finance team to ensure appropriate approvals are in place and to track financial commitments.

  • Coordinate exchange of contract drafts and negotiation sessions with counterparties and opposing counsel.

  • Coordinate with outside counsel on contract matters.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiating skills, including the ability to distinguish between material versus non-material legal and business issues.

  • A JD degree with 5+ years of transactional legal experience, including a combination of in-house and law firm experience, is required.

  • Current member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.

  • Collaborative, flexible, positive, and pragmatic work style with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with internal team and external partners.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with the highest ethical standards and professionalism.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in drafting, managing, and negotiating contracts in an in-house setting at a biotech or life sciences company.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $212,000 to $244,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
