We’re searching for a Team Lead, Vehicle Reliability Engineering.

In this role, based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, you will lead our technical support team in providing efficient troubleshooting and solutions for fleet operations. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, tracking, and resolving issues encountered by the autonomous vehicle fleet in the field. This position plays a key role in ensuring the VRE team operates smoothly and effectively addresses operational challenges.

In this role, you will

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5+ VRE technicians, 
  • Oversee daily troubleshooting operations, including scheduling and performance monitoring, 
  • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of fleet issues and escalations, 
  • Develop and implement support process and workflow improvements partnering with operations, product and engineering teams, 
  • Provide technical support to vehicles that encounter software or hardware issues. 
  • Troubleshoot and perform general root cause analysis on complex software and hardware issue escalations, 
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance and deepen team skills.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, etc) 
  • 5+ years of experience working with Linux in an administrative or troubleshooting capacity. 
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team, 
  • Strong technical knowledge of issue tracking systems, 
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to handle complex issue escalations, 
  • Experience working with various complex hardware and software systems including lidar, radar, cameras, and computers,
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across different teams, offices, and time zones

 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks, 
  • Previous programming experience in Python, Go or C++,
  • Previous automotive or AV technical experience 
  • Deep understanding of computer networking systems

The base salary range for this position is $40.25 - $64.50 per hour.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
