Job Description

Leader of the Caresyntax Global Human Resources function, reporting to the CEO and co-founder. The Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for providing executive-level leadership and guidance across all HR and people operations topics including HR policies, hiring and recruiting, employee relations, culture, team management and training. This highly cross-functional role will manage a team based in the US and Germany and interface across the full Caresyntax functional leadership team. This person will play a critical role in enabling the people who will drive Caresyntax’s continued growth and scaling world-wide. 

 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across the senior management team to ensure people operations needs are met and ensure consistent application of the company’s vision and mission
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues. Partner with the company's board of directors and the Compensation Committee on governance, human capital management and executive compensation matters
  • Lead and mentor the Global HR team, which includes HR Administration and Compliance, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Benefits and Compensation, and Recruiting
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of employee performance, identification of strategic needs, gaps, and creation of strategies from those analyses to cultivate talent and drive succession planning for all levels of the business including an organizational health index measure 
  • Set, manage and track the HR and Training budget
  • Ensure effective management of HR systems, technology, and data analytics to support the organization's business needs.
  • Research, develop and implement competitive compensation, benefits and employee incentives programs globally. Lead and assesses the organization's compensation and promotion process.
  • Co-lead company culture committee and employee recognition program. Champion an organizational culture that is inclusive and diverse, fostering a workplace where every employee feels welcomed, valued, and respected.
  • Run company 360 feedback process, 9-box feedback process plus mentorship programs
  • Interface with Caresyntax Compensation Board Committee to present recommendations and report on HR function
  • Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  • Lead and serves as the change agent in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Lead and coordinate organizational ESG, wellness, and other people initiatives.
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field- Required, MBA or MSc a plus 
  • Management consulting experience a strong plus
  • Human Resources Certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) - Preferred– needs a strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
  • 10+ years of human resource management experience required, management in a dynamic or global company environment Preferred
  • Previous experience working at a high-growth start-up with scale-up dynamics preferred
  • Experience with compliance and employee privacy regulations preferred (GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 900/ 13485)
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or another highly regulated industry
  • Deep knowledge of all HR functions including talent management, recruitment and training, compensation analysis, organizational change and org development 
  • International experience outside of the United States, ideally in the EU
  • Knowledge of local and international labor laws and regulations
  • Previous experience working with senior leadership across all functions
  • Ability to use metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of people operations initiatives
  • Strategic thinking: ability to lead strategic planning, implement projects, work cross functionally and understand the business impact of decisions 
  • Communication: strong ability to communicate with employees and stakeholders across all levels of the organization and geographies, convey ideas clearly, speak publicly, send company-wide communications and manage highly sensitive information 
  • Entrepreneurial: flexible working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment 
  • Supervisory and leadership: ability to navigate within a complex environment with multiple, geographically disbursed locations, with a proven ability to demonstrate measurable results through analytics and metrics
  • Interpersonal: exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence, demonstrated by a natural ability to build trust across levels of the organization, influence people, and create buy-in with global audiences

   

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • Ability to work from Caresyntax Bay Area office (Larkspur, CA) at least once per week
  • Ability to travel to Caresyntax office locations and client locations as necessary
  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls, including a computer and phone. 
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. 
  • Noise level is typically moderate.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Must comply with customer’s protocols and be onsite when applicable
