About Arbital Health

Arbital Health is building a neutral, third-party adjudication utility to help bolster outcomes-based healthcare contracts. We believe incentive alignment is one of the most important challenges in the US healthcare system, and we believe that Arbital will accelerate the $1 trillion dollar shift to value-based care in the US.

Job Description

At Arbital Health, we are accelerating the shift from fee-for-service agreements to value-based care agreements. We do this by building a neutral, third-party platform that allows our customers to design, measure, and adjudicate value-based care agreements that maximize resources and help patients get the care they need to thrive. We are looking for highly talented and highly motivated individuals.  You will be a roll-up-your-sleeves builder eager to innovate and collaborate to change healthcare.
Across all roles, we look for people who embody our values of impact, innovation, collaboration, velocity, and transparency.
Join us to develop and build a new healthcare data and analytics platform to support value-based care contract design and measurement. You will be a founding engineer, and part of a small, collaborative group working across product, design, actuarial science and engineering. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a new product from scratch to serve a multi-billion-dollar market, and deliver quality, equitable, and high-impact care to more Americans as a result!
We anticipate our founding engineers will use their expertise to shape our product, and consequently grow substantially in their careers and take leadership roles as we scale.

What You'll Do:

    • Leverage your strong backend development skills using Python, Databricks and AWS, while working on ingestion and analysis of a high volume of complex medical claims data.
    • Collaborate with an actuarial science team who primarily works in SAS, R and Excel.
    • Contribute to design, implementation, and overall development of your products
    • Drive innovation and deliver valuable features for our customers

What You'll Bring

    • Able to work entrepreneurially – self-motivated, ambitious, and fast-paced.
    • Experienced in full-stack development projects, and demonstrated ability to both build an MVP and scale and mature a product.
    • Able to ship extremely high caliber code and build exceptional products.
    • High level of attention to detail.
    • Ability to perform under minimal supervision with accountability for specific objectives, and work in a rapidly changing, ambiguous start-up environment.
    • Passionate about improving and innovating.
    • Startup experience highly preferred.
    • Our team works hybrid from the San Francisco Bay Area. We will prioritize candidates able to work 1x per week from our office. We will consider highly-qualified remote candidates able to travel for critical meetings.

Tools We Use

    • Core Tools: Python, R, NextJS, React, TS, Tailwind
    • Infrastructure: AWS, Databricks, Heroku, Tableau
    • Version Control: Github
    • Team Planning: Jira, Confluence, Figma
$185,000 - $200,000 a year
The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as the candidate's geographic location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided here. For candidates based in San Francisco, the estimated range for cash compensation for this role is $185,000 - 200,000. Total compensation also includes equity and generous benefits.
Why Join Us?
We are assembling a team of creative, talented visionaries seeking to build a new technology that will change healthcare. You will be able to learn, build, and scale our team and technology in a collaborative, creative culture that values every team member.
We Offer:
•  Generous equity grants of ISO stock options
•  Top-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance, with $1500 company monthly premium contribution
•  4% 401(k) match
•  Flexible PTO, a weeklong winter shutdown, and 10 holidays each year
•  Flexible hybrid work blending 1x week in-office (SF-area team) and collaboration weeks 1-2x per quarter (all employees). We are open to remote workers outside the SF Bay Area who are willing to travel for in-person collaboration up to 20% time.
•  Quarterly team offsites
•  The opportunity to build a critical software platform that accelerates the American healthcare system's transition to value-based care
