Job Description

AirWalk Communications, Inc. is a developer of IP CDMA Radio Access Network (IP-RAN) products that deliver 3G and 4G voice and data platforms with migration to LTE. AirWalk's products are modular, stackable and increase coverage and capacity. AirWalk delivered the industry's first base station and base station controller in a single, inexpensive, compact platform. The company's radio products operate on the global CDMA licensed frequencies and offer operators new sources of revenue.
POSITION PURPOSE

AirWalk is seeking an exceptional external communications and media relations professional to support the development, management and execution of strategic communication initiatives for our company and products. This position will work with senior leadership and marketing to evaluate and manage communications campaigns that will be distributed through: consumer and trade media, analyst communications, online social media vehicles, national conferences and industry-based events.


SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of this position listed below are representative of the functions that must be performed in order to satisfactorily fulfill the Purpose of this position. Additional functions and duties may be assumed or assigned from time to time in furtherance of the Position Purpose. May perform some or all the functions in the absence of regular appointed company personnel.
• Work with the marketing team to plan and execute all aspects of media relations for the company
• Write and edit press releases, external communications, product information and external company documents;
• Conceptualize and perform media pitches, maintain press lists, oversee editorial calendars, track news coverage, distribute press releases, coordinate analyst briefings;
• Develop and maintain relationships with reporters/editors and relevant organizations and coordinate analyst briefings with company spokesperson;
• Set-up and coordinate executive presentations and keynote addresses at events/conferences;
• Lead the social media efforts;
• Assist the marketing team with developing communications strategy and messaging;
• Support and help coordinate event activities including tradeshows and conferences;
• Work with sales team, industry partners and customers to identify and coordinate joint communications efforts;
• Generate new ideas and opportunities to increase company visibility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Proven success generating corporate awareness and media placement;
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills (writing samples must be provided);
• Five to 10 years experience in a similar PR/media relations/communications capacity;
• Prior PR experience with either a wireless technology company or press agency supporting wireless products;
• Strong media relationships with wireless industry influencers;
• Experience with social media and online communications;
• Ability to grasp and understand technical concepts and products particularly in the wireless industry;
• Extremely detail oriented with ability to multitask, prioritize and follow-through.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, public relations, journalism, marketing, business or a communications-related discipline.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Must be proficient with MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Must be knowledgable about online and electronic newswire services, media tracking, Internet research resources, etc.;
• Some travel required.
