The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Strategic Business Development is responsible for building, evaluating, structuring, and implementing business growth opportunities for Automation Anywhere. This role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities and partnerships as a means to grow revenue on the Company's core businesses across sales motions and alternative methods of monetization.

The SVP should be exceptionally personable and should have the mindset of an entrepreneur - a person with experience growing pre-IPO businesses as well as someone who thrives on seeking ways to monetize existing activities, expand revenue streams and forge new models that embody Automation Anywhere’s core vision.

As a senior team member, this role will help make the strategic plan on how to grow the business as well as be out in the marketplace identifying and making deals for potential product, strategic alliances, and licensing opportunities leading to and including professional services.

The ideal candidate is a collaborator who is both strategic and detail-oriented, with business development experience and a proven track record of growing a start-up company in the SaaS space. The person should be comfortable working with executives at other companies and with internal management teams.

The ideal candidate should also be very familiar with the latest innovations and upcoming trends in the Robotics Process Automation (RPA) space and ancillary arenas.


Be at the forefront of RPA industry knowledge in terms of the latest products and innovations and how they can integrate Automation Anywhere into those experiences. Work with the Company's management on the strategic growth plan and roadmap across all channels. Identify, conceive, execute, and model revenue producing business opportunities, including new products, partnerships, and licensing. Manage the relationship with outside alliances from identification to final deal and implementation when needed, working with Sales management team, including business analysis and metrics for success and monetization models. Reports to the Company's Chief Customer and Strategy Officer.

What you will do:

  • Identify, recruit, and develop strategic alliances that enhance the revenue growth opportunity of Automation Anywhere
  • Develop and execute joint business plans ensuring the proper training and enablement is provided for partners to achieve the needed skill capabilities and resources scale
  • Achieve subscription and services revenue goals
  • Build and deliver compelling business cases for customers and partners to create AAI practices and solution/services offerings
  • Collaborate with leadership, teams, and individuals across the organization to drive successful execution of key initiatives with our alliances
  • Build, develop and lead a high performing global team of sales professionals to achieve high impact business outcomes.
  • Serve as a senior member of the Sales leadership team and equally driving the Automation Anywhere Go-To-Market strategy and execution.


Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred. Strong track record in sales strategy and business development. Software as a service (SaaS) background required. Strong network of e-commerce, content, and enterprise contacts. Ability to make presentations and manage various tasks in parallel. 

You will need to be a strong people leader, who intuitively demonstrates active listening, is incredibly responsive, provides detailed follow-though, is flexible, agile and focused in driving a growth organization and delivers a proven track record of team leadership, strong performance and outcomes. You will be a highly motivated, multi-dimensional thinker who operates not only based on important past experiences but also considers new approaches and developments that occur in the market and has the ability and desire to have an impact on the future of Automation Anywhere.

What You'll Bring:

  • At least ten years of progressive business development and sales experience with five years’ or more experience focused on software and technology
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Ability to structure, negotiate, and contract collaborative alliances and agreements with a track record of success
  • Proven success in developing high-value alliances in a highly dynamic and emerging technology and software space
  • Track-record of achieving performance targets, along with the consistent ability to apply critical and strategic thinking to each opportunity while moving fast to make an extraordinary impact for Automation Anywhere
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively, as a team leader and a team member, with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Established network across the software and technology landscape; strong customer focus with the ability to effectively and quickly build relationships built on trust, respect, and results-oriented communication
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The personal drive to contribute, lead by example, and inspire others
