The Director of Site Merchandising is the key leader at Good Eggs who translates data and consumer insights into online merchandising strategies that bring our product stories to life. This manager will have a blend of strategic vision, knowledge of ecommerce, successful management of cross-functional projects and proven history of meaningful impact. 
This role is highly collaborative and works with Creative, Marketing, and Category Management teams to build content and product strategies to grow our online business. It also works closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams in the ideation, testing and optimization of critical site features, as well as tools to better manage the site experience.

Duties and responsibilities

    • Provide vision, guidance and advocacy for the evolution and continuous improvement of merchandising across multiple channels including web and app.
    • Optimize customer discovery and maximize AOV through evaluation of and strategy around navigation, search and engagement with product titles, descriptions, copy, pricing, etc.
    • Plan, conduct and interpret statistical tests for merchandising optimization.
    • Assess merch performance weekly using analytics, reporting and customer insight data and create actionable recommendations.
    • Champion and build multi-channel merchandising best practices and processes, including processes for updates, changes, cross listings, etc.
    • Own item tags, classifications and customer facing taxonomy.
    • Manage seasonal feature and promotional calendars that drive financial success.
    • Provide long-term vision and guidance for personalization and recommendation merchandising and curation.
    • Identify and monitor best-in-class competitors and develop plans for differentiating.
    • Mentor, develop and manage a highly engaged and effective site merchandising team.
    • Establish cross-functional relationships in order to effectively grow and maintain business and financial expectations:Partner with Senior Product Manager to optimize navigation.
    • Partner with Senior Product Manager to define architecture roadmap and work closely with engineering teams to execute.
    • Partner with Senior Category Managers to implement category and pricing strategy across site.
    • Partner with Brand Marketing team to coordinate editorial content with merchandising features.
    • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

    • 1o-15+ years relevant work experience in ecommerce and site merchandising
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
    • Outstanding communication and time management skills, including superior written and oral communication skills

    • Proven track record of working in a fast-growing and fast-moving company
    • A relentless focus on data-driven decision making, balanced with qualitative research insights
    • The ability to lead and influence across diverse stakeholder groups
    • Entrepreneurial, self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively
    • Passion and deep knowledge of food, food habits and food trends Understanding of margins and profitability
    • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office suite software (i.e. spreadsheets, presentation, and word processing software)
    • Ability to understand and engage with new tools, including providing feedback on internal software
