Algolia is seeking a talented and experienced Data Modeler to assist with the design and implementation of Algolia’s Data Platform. As a Data Modeler, you will be working closely with data architects and data analysts to implement data modeling solutions in order to streamline and support our enterprise information management.
To ensure success as a Data Modeler, you should have in-depth knowledge and experience of data warehousing, as well as expert communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch data modeler should be able to design models that reduce data redundancy, streamline data movements, and improve enterprise information management


      • Capturing and modelling data requirements, data definitions, business rules, data quality requirements, and logical and physical data models.
      • Managing Documentation of the data platform and the data warehouse.
      • Analysing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
      • Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
      • Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.
      • Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
      • Updating and optimising local and metadata models.
      • Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
      • Troubleshooting and optimising data systems.


      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
      • 3 years hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling.
      • Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
      • Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.
      • Expert knowledge on SQL.
      • Strong interpersonal skills.
      • Experience with agile development practices
      • Excellent presentation skills.
      • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
      • EU work permit.
      • Excellent spoken and written English skills required.
      • Experience at our current stage and beyond ($50-200M ARR range, high growth, lots of change and building internal infrastructure).


      • Data platform: Redshift, Airflow, dbt (transformation & modeling), AWS (S3, EMR, Glue, Athena, Spectrum)
      • Data collection: Stitch, Segment, Census
      • Data analytics: Looker, Tableau CRM (Salesforce Einstein), Google Data Studio, Amplitude
      • Data sources: Internal products data, Salesforce, Marketo, Zuora, Stripe
