Job Description

We’re looking for a creative, technical, and energetic Vice President, Product Marketing to lead the teams responsible for the messaging, positioning, field enablement, launches, GTM strategy, market and customer research, integrated campaigns, and overall content strategy. 

This role will own holistic differentiation, positioning, execution of our content, and messaging strategy targeted both to technologists and business roles. 

This team sits at the intersection between sales and product management and is tasked with ensuring that Algolia is consistently viewed as the most relevant brand in the market. 

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:

  • Develop year-long product marketing plans, including - among other things - defining the value proposition, positioning, and messaging frameworks by persona and segment.
  • Work closely with our product management and enterprise architecture teams to deeply understand our technology and technical differentiators. Create a compelling story for both developers, It/technologists and business roles. 
  • Create content plans to support demand generation, analyst relations, and public relations. Provide thought-leadership as a spokesperson in analyst relations and public relations engagements 
  • Mix qualitative, quantitative, internal, and third-party research with knowledge of the business to determine execution timelines, channels, and audience needs intended to grow Algolia position as the leader in the industry. 
  • Partner with Algolia’s demand generation and brand marketing teams to amplify, differentiate, and clarify Algolia’s voice through integrated campaigns designed to create 
  • Assess market needs and opportunities for solutions through primary and secondary research and define market requirements and potential positioning in collaboration with Product Management to align product strategy and roadmaps to market opportunity.
  • Own go-to-market launch planning to ensure successful, integrated launches for new product features and company solutions in order to grow the business from awareness to adoption through engagement. 
  • Ensure effective thought leadership and ongoing relevance in the market.
  • Establish KPIs for all of your team’s efforts and track performance to ensure marketing plans are delivering expected business outcomes. 
  • Mentor and grow a team of high performing product marketing talent. 

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE:

  • 12+ years of product marketing leadership experience for a B2B SaaS organization that targets a primary enterprise customer base. 
  • Deep technical knowledge, with previous experience of speaking both technical and business language. 
  • Experience targeting a technical audience (Developers, Enterprise Architects, Product Managers). 
  • A proven history of shaping product marketing strategy. 
  • Experience shaping and conducting market research around personas, the buyer’s journey and other critical elements of a content strategy. 
  • Strong experience selling and marketing to enterprise customers on a global scale across North America, EMEA and the Asia Pacific regions. 
  • Leadership DNA, proven ability to excite and lead a high-performing product marketing team. 
  • Demonstrated experience in synthesizing and translating market needs into product requirements and the ability to manifest the product vision/direction via compelling positioning and messaging.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication, with the ability to create succinct, compelling messaging. 
  • Proven experience launching new products and growing to a mature business. ● Compelling storyteller with a strategic and analytical mindset who can engage and educate customers and prospects. Strong presentation skills at both a conference level and 1:1 with specific customers and prospects. 
  • Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally. 
  • Bonus points for experience in Developer Tools SaaS. 
  • Hunger for learning and experimentation to guide the team and company through best practices in the ever-changing marketing and content marketing strategy landscape.
