First and foremost at Dishcraft, we value people, intellectual curiosity and transparent communication. We are looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious and passionate engineers to bring our robots to life.  As an intern, you will learn about the design process and manufacture through hands-on work. Tasks may include mechanical design, testing, manufacturing sourcing, assembly, and troubleshooting.

About the Role

  • Working closely with Operations department, collaborate, ideate and then design and fabricate semi-automated solutions to help bridge throughput demands
  • Validate the revision level of the BOM’s for existing robotic solutions
  • Validate inventory levels for manufacturing builds
  • Identify obsolete parts and define a means for segregation of these parts
  • Set appropriate inventory reordering levels with visual prompts for consumables
  • Execute system assembly and hands-on fabrication work
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, test engineers, software engineers, vendors, and design consultants.
  • Work for a minimum duration of 3 months

About You

  • A student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD software (preferably Solidworks)
  • The desire to learn, explore tasks and seek feedback
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and basic machining
  • Some familiarity with motion control components such as motors, encoders, linear actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other sensors
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and shops
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to be part of a fast-moving start-up and work in a collaborative environment with few rigid boundaries
