Job Description

Wowza Media Systems is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to be the primary product-technology resource within Marketing and bridge the company's product and engineering activates to our marketing efforts. This self-starting person must be a results-oriented strategic thinker with an exceptional blend of multi-audience communication skills, a deep and passionate knowledge of the streaming technology landscape, and the ability to plan, manage, and execute marketing programs, launches and initiatives.

To be successful, you must have a demonstrated ability to drive business growth by articulating technical value propositions for complex products and building both awareness and demand. You will be metrics and data driven with demonstrated measured results and a passion for achieving targets.

This role will have a large and direct impact on our success by helping expand our addressable market, strengthen and further penetrate our base, and work with partners and channel to open up new areas of opportunity.

Responsibilities

Product Marketing and Positioning

Develop market positions, messages and marketing campaigns for target segments such as vertical industries, etc.

Develop and execute strategic marketing plans via customer needs analysis, initial positioning and messaging, testing, analysis and refinements

Perform competitive analysis and the development of competitive selling tools

Perform market, customer, and competitive research to differentiate Wowza’s products, as well as to anticipate competitive response

Share learning and best practices broadly, continually improve processes and content, and provide clear and consistent reporting to Executive Management

Product Life Cycle Communications

Drive creation of sales, customer and partner facing messaging and communications throughout product life cycles

Develop and Manage product launch, point release and product sunset communications

Work closely with the Marketing Communications team to define product positioning and key messages, to develop product data sheets, sales aids and key messages to external stakeholders (analysts, media, customers, prospects & partners)

In cooperation with Marketing Communications help with developing effective communications activities and programs including online outreach, events, and thought leadership

Give presentations in person, online and through video to communicate the value propositions

Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop tactical product marketing plans delivering the proper product positioning via specific activities and programs (social media, webinars, events, videos, etc.)

Formulate forecasts and create the marketing plan including methods for market penetration, customer acquisition, as well as customer retention and expansion

Work cross-functionally to create product marketing materials and partner toolkits (data sheets, partner briefs, presentations, online assets, etc.)

Measures effectiveness of our product marketing programs

Thought Leadership

Initiate, develop and deliver thought-leading content via events, blogs, webinars, videos, ebooks, podcasts and other outlets

Act as a company evangelist for the products in webinars, videos, podcasts and speaking events as needed both internally and externally to analysts, media, customers, prospects and partners

Sales Enablement

Create and deliver sales, channel and partner training to ensure they receive sufficient training to properly present and position products to customers and prospects

Create sales enablement materials such as standard presentations, demo scripts, data sheets, solution briefs, videos, messaging guides, etc.

Develop additional sales tools as needed that align with the ideal sales process and typical buying process – both low touch and high touch

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science or technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • 3 - 5 years in product marketing for B2B Enterprise software and SaaS, or other highly technical fields. Video streaming experience a plus
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in market development experience, including direct responsibility for product marketing strategy and execution, promotion development and execution and partner marketing
  • Strong technical skills and experience working with marketing programs and tools such as Marketing Automation, Web CMS system, Camtasia and others
  • Track record of success in growing product line revenues
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiating competing priorities from multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven market and competitive analysis ability that results in understanding and prioritizing customer needs to map to product positioning, pricing, messaging and functionality
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills – an ability to work effectively with different people within an organization (technical, salespeople, strategists)
  • Strong leadership & analytical skills
  • Outstanding written, oral, and visual communications skills

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $90,000 - $130,000
