Job Description

Artsy is seeking an experienced and driven Manager, Partnerships with sizable business development experience and relationships with artists, curators, and collectors. This role is a full-time temporary position through the end of 2021, working with the Secondary Market team; start date is July.
Artsy offers a centralized online platform for our partners to promote auctions, expand their client base, maximize bids, and support auction operations with our suite of cloud-based and mobile tools. The Artsy Partnerships team brings on and manages our Commercial Auction House, Benefit Auction, and other secondary market partners.
The Manager will be responsible for helping Artsy grow the secondary market business by bringing on top tier, innovative partnership opportunities that are supportive of or complementary to existing business lines. The Manager will be responsible for attracting top relationships through their network of businesses and organizations, and through creative iteration on potential collaborations to help expand Artsy online auctions. The ideal candidate has solid experience building partnerships (ideally in the art world), a strong network of relationships, and honed interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the sourcing and business-getting efforts for auction and institutional partnerships; bring in and manage a robust pipeline of partners including top auction houses, nonprofit organizations and their benefit auctions, and other auction-adjacent partnership opportunities
  • Lead and manage the cultivating, pitching, onboarding, and account management throughout each partner’s lifetime on Artsy
  • Manage and expand relationships with current partners and collaborators
  • Serve as a thought partner to collaborators to grow and expand creative partnership opportunities

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience working with auction houses, nonprofits and/or the secondary market
  • Relationships with private collectors and proven sales track record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment
