Job Description

Antidote Technologies is a digital patient engagement company, operating in the clinical trial recruitment sector. Our mission is to enable faster medical innovation, by transforming how patients and researchers connect.

We are a small (circa 45 people) but growing company, with ambitious plans for 2021 and beyond.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our expanding team. This role reports to the CFO and works closely with our CEO and members of the executive team.

You will manage the day to day financial operations of the company and its wholly owned US subsidiary. Implementing robust systems, controls and processes to help the business grow in size and complexity while also supervising and developing the finance team.

Salary range for this role is £70,000-£80,000 per annum.

  • Building robust financial processes and controls, ensuring strong financial governance
  • Proactively improve processes and controls to streamline and maximise efficiencies
  • Overseeing financial reporting and accounting
  • Bookkeeping, AP / AR, payments, invoicing
  • Ownership of GL’s, accounting system, month end reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting, treasury and fx
  • Annual Statutory Accounts and Audit, Consolidations
  • Responsible for the bi-monthly (US) and Monthly (UK) payroll, working closely with our external payroll providers
  • Work with the business to build the annual financial budget, update company forecasts and ensure appropriate communications to the business and controls on budget spend
  • Statutory tax reporting and compliance
  • Prepare the monthly board pack including consolidated management accounts with analysis and commentaries
  • Manage a Finance Assistant responsible for transactional finance and in time recruit further
  • Manage EMI options scheme and cap table
  • Support the CFO with any future fundraising and M&A activity
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities to grow revenue channels, maximise margins, reduce costs to increase profitability and cash flow


  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • 3+ years experience post qualification
  • Financial modelling and consolidation experience
  • Expert operating knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience of working within a high growth technology company
  • Experience in multisite, cross border operations (preferably US)

  • Established business partner, capable of advising, challenging and influencing key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Strong management and organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Professional, pragmatic and confident within a senior role
  • Excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to analyse numbers quickly and accurately and communicate them easily to non-finance colleagues
  • Comfortable liaising directly with senior management
  • Confidence to set own goals, ambitious and drive to push limits


This role is currently fully remote but preference will be given to candidates who are able to commute to central London 1-2 days per week once we return to normal.
