Our team is a group of startup veterans with experience across healthcare, hospitality, tech, and finance at companies such as Lyft, BCG, Airbnb, Blackstone, and Clover Health.

We are looking for a VP of Finance to join the Candid™ team to own and continue developing our growing accounting and financial reporting function. This newly created role will report to the CFO and focus on managing and directing day-to-day accounting activities while continuing to build a framework for future success as we enter the next stage of growth as an organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background and experience effectively leading and developing accounting organizations.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage, mentor, and continue to build out a high performing accounting team
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and advisor to stakeholders across the company
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations which include general ledger, revenue, COGS (manufacturing), inventory, payroll, A/P, A/R, and treasury
  • Prepare and distribute to our investors accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
  • Partner with CFO on delivering and executing against a roadmap for team and process developments to support Candid in our next stage of growth
  • Manage a complex entity structure and consolidation, with multinational subsidiaries and acting as a DSO to entities across many states
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP
  • Research and prepare technical memos on complex technical accounting issues; analyze new and proposed accounting standards to determine accounting and disclosure implications
  • Manage external financial audit of the Company’s financial statements
  • Partner with outside accounting firms to ensure compliance with tax and other reporting requirements
  • Develop & maintain an internal control environment to ensure compliance with SOX and corporate policies and procedures
  • Support the CFO in engaging the board’s audit committee around issues and trends in the financial operating model


What You’ll Need 

  • 12+ years of experience (8+ years in public accounting at a top firm), ideally with a mix of public and private; CPA required
  • Experienced leader of people and process
  • Deep knowledge of all aspects of US GAAP, technical accounting, SEC regulations and SOX compliance
  • Thrives in a high-growth and complex environment, seeks out continuous improvement
  • Develops effective working relationships with team members, business partners, and vendors
  • Expert in change management; comfortable leading changes in process or system
  • Clearly articulates ideas and thoughts in written and verbal form
  • Possesses expert organizational and analytical skills; able to multi-task and successfully meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to maintain highest levels of accountability and confidentiality
