Job Description

As part of Helpshift’s growing operations, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Global People Business Partner to be an integral member of our Global People team. The successful candidate will contribute both strategically and operationally to cultivate an engaging culture as we scale our business. The Global People Business Partner provides full-cycle human resources leadership and works closely with all levels of the organization. This position is a critical, highly visible role working with leaders in a culture of transformation, strategically partnering with leaders to drive business initiatives. This position reports to the Global Head of People


    • Works closely and partners with business leaders to enable the recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performing team and culture
    • Builds and cultivates strong relationships with leaders, key stakeholders and employees at all levels; acts as strategic partner and trusted advisor to aligned leaders and plays a critical role in enhancing leadership effectiveness
    • Create people processes and ensure compliance with procedures, policies and best practices and regional law requirementsChallenge and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of People programs and solutions and recommend changes to meet business and employee needs
    • Develops and leads people programs and processes, plans and communications including but not limited to performance management, compensation planning, workforce planning, succession planning and talent development, training, organizational planning and design, change management, and employee engagement with an eye on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
    • Advises on organization design and leads change management and communication initiatives. recommendations, and initiatives to address gaps and drive successful outcomes
    •  Manages employee relations matters through highly ethical and value-based processes while identifying trends requiring changes in policies and/or practices.
    • Coaches and supports managers in navigating employee and organizational matters.
    • Models the Helpshift culture and champions core values, leading initiatives to retain and strengthen company culture
    • Maintains a strong understanding of the business to influence effectively
    • Communicates and collaborates across the People function to ensure alignment
    • Manages outside vendors as needed for People projects and initiatives
    • Collaborates with hiring managers and recruiting partners to manage the successful attraction, recruitment, and integration of Helpshift team members
    • Partners with People operations to translate people data into insights


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or other relevant degree
    • Professional HR certification preferred
    • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a strategic business partner, with strong preference for experience in high growth
    • Start-up experience required as well as strong project execution capabilities
    • Preferred HR business partnership experience in partnering & supporting international teams
    • Knowledge of systems activation and integration (Slack, Lattice, Slab experience preferred)
    • Strong business acumen and proven ability to integrate HR and business strategies; ability to make thoughtful & data-driven decisions that consider individual and business needs
    • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including total rewards, organization design, talent development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, DE&I, and leadership coaching
    • Exceptional communication skills; must be able to influence, build trust and motivate both horizontally and vertically
    • Strong business acumen essential; must have a true business orientation and perspective indicative of an ability to provide strategic insight and analysis to business issues outside of the HR function; be able to provide a solution perspective, not just an HR perspective
    • Able to work and adapt in a fast-moving environment and under tight deadlines 
    • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, build trust, demonstrate discretion, and demonstrate sound judgment 
    • Strong ability to work and manage multiple projects at any given time
    • Positive attitude, energetic, and proactive; curious and collaborative. You bring levity to decompress tense situations, are persistent in getting to the root of problems (and build solutions that solve them), and use great judgment - even in complex situations
    • A balance of strategic thinking and transactional execution with a strong bias for actionExperience in an ambiguous and ever-evolving environment, with an emphasis on building and scalingExperience managing vendors and external stakeholders
