Job Description

TravelBank is in search of a JavaScript engineer that will be responsible for updating and maintaining our integrations as well as responding to support escalations from our product support and customer success teams. This is a customer facing role that will require interfacing directly with customers and prospects to understand their integration and support requirements.
This role requires both customer facing and engineering competencies and will not be strictly in either realm. You will work most closely with our product and engineering teams, but will also be working closely with sales and support as stakeholders.

At TravelBank you will have the opportunity to work in the travel and fintech industries serving some of the fastest growing companies in the world. As a member of the engineering team you will be a driving force in the culture of our engineering team as well as have an immediate impact on the product we deliver to our customers.

TravelBank provides an award-winning business travel and expense system seeking to disrupt both the travel and expense industries. TravelBank is headquartered in the San Francisco bay area and is backed by industry-leading funds NEA, Accel and Dreamers VC.

You'll be joining an experienced team that has successfully launched, grown, and exited venture funded businesses. In 2019, TravelBank was voted one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities
• Create and update productized and custom integrations with customer ISVs, for example: QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, Sage Intacct, Okta, Onelogin, etc.
• Research product and technical capabilities and limitations of applications that we may want to integrate.
• Interface with product, sales, and support teams on gathering requirements for customer integrations.
• Participate in customer calls to learn customer pain points with their existing processes and learn requirements for potential integrations.
• Document integrations and technical processes for onboarding customers onto the TravelBank platform.
• Triage and respond to support escalations from our product support and customer success teams.
• Work closely with our feature teams to validate new integrations and resolve bugs and regressions.
• Perform code reviews and pair with other engineers.
• Participate in team discussions on how to improve our stack and processes.

Desired Competencies
• Strong communicator with a high EQ. This role will require interfacing with several different business groups as well customers. Understanding the needs of different groups and how your work will impact them will be critical to success in this position.
• Solution focused. You should be able to work with customers to understand their business needs and provide solutions that can satisfy a range of scenarios. Solutions we create will need to support multiple organizations so it will be important not to be focused on a single use case.
• Process oriented. You should be comfortable creating and learning processes, as well documenting new and existing processes.
• Accountability and ownership. You are self motivated to see your projects and features ship with quality and testing coverage.
• 6 months - 2 years of JavaScript experience, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, and ES6.
• Experience with integrating systems via APIs through standard protocols REST, SOAP, etc.
• Competency in code debugging.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React, Vue.js, EmberJS, etc.
