Fulcrum’s proprietary product engine identifies drug targets which can modulate gene expression to treat the known root cause of gene mis-expression. The company has advanced losmapimod to Phase 2 clinical development for the treatment of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Fulcrum has also advanced FTX-6058, a small molecule designed to increase expression of fetal hemoglobin for the treatment of sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia into Phase 1 clinical development.


Fulcrum is seeking a Director of Market Insights and Analytics to join the NPP and Strategy team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to gather commercial insights that will inform product development, commercialization, and launch for pipeline products across our portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to build a new innovative capability from the ground up and inform key decisions that shape the evolution of Fulcrum’s pipeline.


  • Collaborate extensively with NPP and program teams to identify the key business questions for our pipeline programs, and the insights needed to address them.
  • Become a global expert in the indication areas you cover – including an intuitive understanding of the market dynamics, current therapeutic landscape, patient journey, buying process, and key stakeholder attitudes and behaviors
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive insights generation plan aligned to the key business questions identified by the NPP and program teams, leveraging the most appropriate methodology (e.g., primary, or secondary market research, data analytics, KOL engagement, etc.)
  • Synthesize and communicate findings from insight generating activities across the organization, ensuring appropriate breadth and depth of materials is consistent with the internal audience
  • Identify and implement innovative approaches, tools, and techniques to efficiently and rapidly capture novel insights in key therapeutic areas of interest
  • Across all these activities, the Director will function as a key thought partner and provide objective perspective and insights


  • 5-7+ years in biopharma marketing, market research and/or analytics; 3+ years in management consulting or research services preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.  Focus on Marketing, Economics or Statistics, preferred.  
  • Strong business acumen and track record of translating technical analyses into business insights
  • Expertise with research methods to bring the voice of the customer to inform new product development, and to understand and track consumer attitudes & behavior
  • Well-versed with a variety of primary market research methodologies; demonstrated track record of sourcing and deploying state-of-the-art techniques
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience partnering with advanced analytics professionals
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills – able to persuade with insights and defend assumptions
  • Demonstrated track of engaging as thought partner with stakeholders
  • Proactive orientation - able to anticipate issues, engage with stakeholders and plan accordingly
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to effectively structure problems and solution approaches
  • Experience directing and managing internal and external partners to deliver analyses
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with exceptional project management skills
