Job Description

The key requirement for the role is the ability to understand the business, identify new digital marketing channels for customer acquisition, optimize the existing digital marketing channels, develop data driven solutions to address business problems and lead the analytics capabilities in the Marketing function. The individual will possess the ability to work in teams and display a proactive learning attitude.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating the profitability of the existing digital marketing channels and optimize them to meet the business goals. Leveraging advanced analytics to segment/cluster the data to identify more/less profitable segments.
  • Testing new digital marketing channels/campaigns to acquire/retain customers and optimize them to establish them as viable marketing channels/campaigns. The candidate would need to do rigorous and consistent testing in order to optimize the marketing mix.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to the team on their workstreams.
  • Working with different functions to ensure the timely and correct implementation of any functionality that can impact marketing performance.
  • Ensuring that the tracking requirements are developed and implemented with utmost quality.
  • Measuring end to end funnel to understand gaps in customer acquisition journey and identify areas of improvement.
  • Overseeing the monitoring of key portfolio metrics and take data driven actions based on the performance observed.

Critical Business Activities

  • Leading advanced analytics for the function
    • Review existing models / analyses and propose refinements / optimizations
    • Be a role model to the analysts working with/under you – supporting them to upskill their analytics capabilities
    • Identify underperforming segments and devise challengers / experiments / solutions to improve the performance of these areas
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the domain/function
    • Quickly get up to speed with the remit and extent of the role
    • Develop cross functional relationships to enhance the leveraging of ideas and opportunities
    • Set and manage team expectations. Drive implementation of projects across the team and ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Leading monthly reporting calls with senior product / P&L owners
    • Being well versed in the underlying data and able to confidently describe and explain key values, trends and patterns – obtained by working closely with the analysts involved in preparing the data
    • Producing the presentation to a high standard – including appropriate detail and tailored to a senior audience
    • Capturing actions from sessions and following up on these (including cross-functional actions requiring Marketing team to direct others to achieve outcomes)

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a hands-on digital marketing position, preferably a product-based company.
  • In depth knowledge of various digital marketing platforms and best practices. End to end campaign execution on Google Ads, Microsoft Ads is a must. Basic understanding of DV360, Facebook/Instagram business manager and web Analytics tools like Google Analytics, GTM, search console etc. would be required.
  • In depth understanding of how various digital marketing channels like Paid Search Marketing, Display Marketing, Social Media Marketing etc. work.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the digital marketing space.
  • Experience in handling large and complex data sources
  • Dexterity with MySQL, MS Excel
  • Statistical modelling and experience on analytical tools such as R/Python would be plus.
  • Strong Analytical aptitude and logical reasoning ability
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in challenging existing thinking
  • Highly organised and detail oriented
