Job Description

We are looking for a growth-oriented People Operations professional to join our mission-driven team. You will define and build our People Operations program. You'll act as a business partner to the management team in all people related topics and provide relevant input to support strategic decision making. You will champion the EverTrue employee experience while bringing a commercial perspective as we maintain our commitment to maintaining a profitable business. 

The People Operations Lead will report to our CEO and work with our senior leadership to design how People Operations will function at EverTrue. The candidate will have the opportunity to build and influence EverTrue’s practices in regards to operations, human resources, and company culture. You will ensure we implement excellent hiring practices, deliver an exceptional employee experience and accelerate business momentum through compelling investments in performance management and learning and development.

The ideal candidate will also partner with key external parties to shape our People Operations program. This could include recruiters, employment counsel, DEI experts, benefits brokers, HR compliance partners, compensation advisors, L&D partners, technology vendors and other third-parties. 

We had been trending towards remote work before the pandemic and we will continue to embrace this unstoppable trend in 2021 and beyond. The People Ops Lead will help build inclusive remote teamwork and communications experiences. 

Beyond day to day People Operations work at EverTrue, this position will also serve an integral role in bringing these practices to our Donor Experience Management Program. Donor Experience Management clients and Donor Experience Officers (DXOs) marry inside-sales workflows and strategy with fundraising, relationship building and stewardship workflows in order to engage, renew, and reactivate donors for the institution. While DXOs are employees at their respective institutions, the EverTrue partnership shares responsibility for training and coaching each DXO to ensure they achieve their goals. The People Operations Lead will play a key role in working with the DXO Team to design and implement inclusive and equitable recruitment and onboarding processes.

What you'll do:

  • Lead all people-related initiatives including, but not limited to, employee performance reviews and retention, benefits compliance, recruiting, internal process development, diversity & inclusion, professional learning and development, and employee relations
  • Guide employees through career development opportunities and assist with interpersonal conversations 
  • Enhance and grow EverTrue’s culture by developing programs and initiatives that foster camaraderie and positive relationships with one another, especially in a remote environment 
  • Manage yearly review process, compensation changes, and benefits administration 
  • Own the various tools used to support the functions described above and others deemed necessary. That includes recruiting software, employee review software, employee surveying software, etc.
  • Play a key role in organizing company social events, such as our annual, company-wide trip to P-Town
  • Serve as a trusted resource for all employees
  • Work in tandem with the customer success team to design and implement an equitable, efficient, and scalable hiring process for our DXO programs

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience in the People Operations/Operations/Human Resources function within a high-growth organization or start-up
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of People/HR best practices 
  • Strong understanding of utilizing people-related data and experience developing metrics to measure employee engagement, performance, and retention 
  • Experience working with senior management in strategic decision making 
  • Strong people management and coaching skills 
  • Demonstrated understanding of higher education and/or non-profit fundraising industry is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to work flexible hours (i.e. Eastern and/or Pacific time)
  • Must be eligible to work in the US
