Our API-first solution allows any merchant to offer extended warranties and protection plans, both online and offline, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters.
 
We are a venture-backed startup based in downtown San Francisco (and since COVID began, fully remotely) that is headed by founders who have previously led multiple successful exits. Extend is simplifying the technology stack for the extended warranty industry in the same ways that Stripe did for online payments and Affirm did for consumer point-of-sale financing.
 
About the Role:
 
Extend is seeking a Technology Partner Manager to drive the creation of a digital ecosystem around Extend’s product(s) that encompass a fintech, insurtech, and eCommerce focus.  You will be at the forefront of the extended warranty and customer loyalty landscape as it is undergoing rapid transformation. Your focus will be on strategically developing technology partnerships that expand our product suite, enhance our value proposition, and maintain our industry-leading solution.
 

What You'll Do:

    • Responsible for supporting the head of partnerships on developing and executing our ecosystem strategy, playbook, and roadmap for Extend’s technology partners
    • Scope high-level technical requirements to validate the feasibility and impact of potential partnerships
    • Identify and negotiate relationships with leading technology companies that enables Extend to expand our product suite and addressable markets/customers
    • Maintain industry knowledge and have a continuous pulse on the overall ecosystem and value chain to identify opportunities where we can expand the value that we bring to our customers
    • Create and execute go-to-market strategies and product integrations across a portfolio of technology partnerships in alignment with Extend’s priorities across partnerships, sales, marketing, product, and engineering
    • Partner with the Product, Engineering, and Strategic Initiative teams in roadmap development, product integrations, and evaluating build/buy/partner opportunities in line with customer’s needs, new market requirements, and the competitive landscape
    • Champion potential partnerships and inspire cross-functional teams to evaluate and execute on partnership opportunities
    • Orchestrate sales, product, engineering, and marketing workstreams to collaboratively capitalize on the value of the partnerships that you develop
    • Represent Extend and our brand externally given public-facing facets of the role

What We're Looking For:

    • 7+ years of experience managing technology partnerships and alliances in a high growth environment
    • Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of product warranty and fintech industry trends and the key players in the competitive landscape
    • Technical Knowledge: comfort engaging with technical stakeholders and a track record of leveraging technology innovation to unlock customer value
    • Entrepreneurial mindset: a strong sense of ownership, desire to make a cross-functional impact, eagerness to learn, and customer-obsessed
    • Clear communication, structured thinking, organization, and project management skills 
    • Strong collaborator who can build relationships across the organization, especially with the product and engineering team 
    • Strong negotiator and big, ambitious thinker in regard to how we drive value with our partners 
    • Comfortable working in a highly results-oriented environment, building new workstreams & processes 

Nice to Have's:

    • Experience working in the Fintech and/or eCommerce industry
    • A track record of working with external partners to define and implement technical solutions
