Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative, motivated Neurobiology Scientist with demonstrated expertise in neurobiology to serve as an investigator in our research laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be primarily responsible for designing, conducting, and optimizing mechanism of action studies and assay development in support of our preclinical pipeline.


Responsibilities:

The Neurobiology Scientist responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following activities.

? Independently design and execute mechanism of action studies.

? Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot creative experimental approaches to advance drug discovery projects toward clinical development.

? Play a key role in establishing relevant neuronal and glial cell models to support drug development.

? Analyze and clearly present data in an organized and timely manner.


Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

To be considered for the Neurobiology Scientist role you must have a PhD, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuroscience and in-depth knowledge of experimental cell or animal models for neurodegenerative disorders as it pertains to neurons, glial or myelin producing cells. Hands-on experience with culturing primary neurons, glial cells, or iPSC-derived cells and proficiency in standard cell biology and biochemistry techniques including cell culture, protein analysis and quantification (western blotting, ELISA, etc), microscopy, and immunocytochemistry is required.


Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and challenging research environment in which the primary focus is delivering a therapeutic solution to patients. Involvement in a drug discovery setting and a strong publication record are definitive advantages.
