We are looking for an experienced product-focussed Engineering Manager to lead our AEC team in the ongoing development of the industry-leading drone software platform.  DroneDeploy is used on hundreds of thousands of job sites around the world.  You will be responsible for leading and developing a core group of highly-skilled backend (Python) and frontend (Angular) Engineers.  You will be delivering customer-facing products incorporating GIS, computer vision, ML and 3D rendering in an effective and reliable way as we expand our footprint in the AEC industry.
 
We are open to hiring nationwide US and Canada. 

Responsibilities

    • Manage, develop and grow our fullstack AEC team responsible for the development of our customer-facing roadmap
    • Foster and maintain a healthy, collaborative team culture
    • Drive engineering effort through providing technical expertise and process guidance
    • Own the quality, reliability and observability of your features
    • Collaborate with product management on team strategy, roadmap, and building an awesome product
    • Own the timeline and delivery of high-quality features which delight our customers
    • Work with senior engineering leadership to advocate and drive high-quality engineering practices within the team and across the organization
    • Present high level data to our executive team

Requirements

    • 2+ years managing engineering teams in a hands-on technical environment, shipping widely-used, high-quality customer-facing applications
    • Experience driving impactful reliability improvements and maintaining SLOsPrevious deep technical experience with backend or front-end development as a senior engineer or technical lead
    • Previous experience managing distributed developer teams
    • Experience with modern web technology stacks such as Angular/React and/or backend web services
    • Passion for agile delivery in a continuous integration environment
    • Demonstrated ability to build awesome products and have a positive impact on engineering teams and users
    • Exhibit extraordinary attention to detail
    • Take ownership, solve problems, and have a high level of accountability
    • Experience with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, distributed / batch processing a plus
    • Experience with GIS, computer vision or ML a plus
