Job Description

Systems Engineer is responsible to provide consultative technical direction and support to regional sales teams. It takes care of leading technical presales, technical problem-solving, preparing and delivering sales presentations, attending trade shows and seminars, empowering HYCU sales channels through training and team selling. In addition, its responsibility is to evangelize and position the industry’s first purpose-built data protection solution for the industry’s platform leaders.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Strategic:

  • Provides technology leadership and direction for internal teams and customers to solve technical data protection and monitoring challenges;
  • Masters technical leadership and subject matter expertise on HYCU’s data protection software portfolio and competitive offerings in the backup and recovery space;
  • Serves as technical expert to develop and propose solutions that meet a customer’s technology and business objectives.

 Operations:

Results or outcomes:
  • Works cross functionally and collaboratively with Sales, Product Management and Marketing teams to execute against revenue goals;
  • Identifies potential problems and bottlenecks and creates new solutions/ideas;
  • Independent service research, definition and implementation of HYCU products;
  • Applies their technical and product knowledge to marketing activities such as webinars, blogs, trade shows, and client interactions to help generate leads.
 Customer:
  • Understands the market, competition, and customer needs to best position HYCU products;
  • Maintains and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction;
  • Maintains clear and transparent communication with customers and partners in prescribed communication structure.
Tasks and/or behaviors:
  • Designs and delivers technology solutions to architect, install, configure and administer HYCU’s data protection software portfolio;
  • Writes and delivers proposals, and conveys thoughts, findings, and expert opinions to our clients’ technical and non-technical leadership;
  • Delivers compelling and persuasive technical and sales presentations to HYCU internal teams as well as our customers’ technical and senior management staff;
  • Remains highly knowledgeable about industry trends, market activities, and competitors;
  • Performs technical investigations, designs customer-specific solutions and then documents; those activities for the benefit of those involved (customers, partners, and members of the HYCU organization);
  • Participates in a deployment workflow and product roll-out activities;
  • Evaluates customer reports and acts according to service requirements/specifications;
  • Foresees, plans and mitigates “risk”;
  • Performs additional and supplementary works as ordered by a superior (i.e., works contributing to the performance of the basic work or conditioning the continuation of other works).
 Processes:
  • Owns the technical sales process from introductory meetings (net new sales) through post-sales (customer satisfaction, upselling, and subscription renewals);
  • Has a working knowledge of support methods and procedures and their utilization in support procedures;
  • Follows HYCU’s and customer’s rules and procedures; follows hierarchy/circles;
  • Documents all processes, suggests improvements and implements new ideas;
  • Is aware of confidential information and company security procedures and applies them in daily activities.
