Summary of Position

Fortify is looking for a Product Manager who can help us create and define our additive manufacturing platform.  As a Product Manager, you will be the champion and steward for Fortify’s Digital Composite Manufacturing platform with responsibility for defining the requirements for a suite of software and hardware products including establishing product requirements, go-to-market strategies, value propositions, product promotional content, price positioning, and market development. You will also set and define new products and work with engineers, developers, and a broader team to bring them to life, making key tradeoff decisions whenever needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure Fortify’s strategic and competitive position and deliver world class products through an understanding of our users, the latest technological trends, and competitive advances
  • Work closely with the Business Development, Marketing, Applications, and Engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and execute on key product requirements across our software and hardware portfolio
  • Work with internal and external teams to identify and prioritize immediate and upcoming user needs & market opportunities and develop a product roadmap that addresses them
  • Utilize software tools for tracking, scheduling, and reviewing the product direction through the entire product lifecycle
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline the flow of information from PRDs to internal stakeholders and product development workstreams
  • Align features and specifications with the customer/market needs and value proposition and articulate business value of the product
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer via interviews and surveys
  • Perform and maintain competitive analyses of relevant manufacturing technologies
  • Represent Fortify products in speaking and customer engagements

Candidate Prerequisites

  • BS in an Engineering or other technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
  • Advanced degree (MS / MBA) strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Product Manager creating hardware, IoT, or related products
  • Strong technical understanding and command of 3D printing hardware, software, and materials
  • Excellent, demonstrated team leadership ability
  • Experience creating product roadmaps
  • A passion for making data informed decisions and the ability to define and analyze metrics to make our products successful
  • Natural bias towards understanding our users
  • Capability to learn the technology that powers our products
