Job Description

Summary:

The Lead Materials Handler will be responsible for executing Silk Road Medical’s overall materials management program to ensure inventory transactions are accurate, and materials and supplies are available as needed to ensure Internal and External Customers and Stake holders are satisfied.  This role will be a key contributor to establishing our new presence in Minnesota.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all in-bound and out-bound material-related daily activities to production. This includes receiving, VMI programs, material transfers, Work Orders, NCMR’s, material dispositions, Sales / Trunk Stock Orders, and Inventory management. 
  • Interface with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to optimize processes by leveraging our ERP.
  • Documents and maintains operational procedures, develops and oversees project plans, and implements change control procedures to ensure inventory efficiencies.
  • Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new best practices.
  • Maintain integrity of master data by performing monthly/quarterly audits to ensure that the data has been set up properly in the ERP system and in compliance with the standard
  • Work with cross-functional teams within the ERP support organization and with the user community related to Supply Chain.
  • Manages stock levels in accordance with the build plan and usage rates. 
  • Manages and executes daily receiving and inventory transactions and lead personnel as needed.
  • Ensure all goods are properly located and maintained in accordance to storage procedures.
  • Responsible for conducting routine cycle counts for inventory accuracy. 
  • Responsible for coordinating/supporting Year-End Inventory activities and working with auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Distribute all goods in accordance with approved distribution/inventory management procedures.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

 

Requirements: 

  • AA Degree preferred or equivalent work experience. 
  •  3+ years of work experience in supply chain, manufacturing operations or a related field; preferably in medical device.
  • Lead or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge related to inventory management, materials planning, and warehousing   
  • Experience with ERP required; QAD experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated work history of cross-functional project management.
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency with respect to achieving on-time delivery and quality goals.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet multiple and occasional competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative working relationship with other employees and Manager.
  • Must be highly organized and able to execute task in a timely manner.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime.
  • Be punctual and adhere to company policies.
  • Ability to work in accordance with current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP).
