The Role

The Honest Company is seeking a Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations to lead the development and implementation of IT initiatives that support the mission and growth of The Honest Company. Reporting into the CIO, the Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations will work closely with key business partners, and peers within IT, to combine technology and processes into tangible business solutions. You will provide technology leadership in the planning and strategy, architecture, deployment, management, and operation of essential IT Infrastructure & Operations including network infrastructure, storage, servers, database, cloud computing, disaster recovery, security, identity and access management, telecommunications, and vendor management.

What you’ll do:

  • Position requires “hands on" management, hardworking and a dedicated individual with experience leading IT Infrastructure & Operations in a CPG Company.
  • Oversee the acquisition, implementation, configuration, security, administration, and support of all IT infrastructure.
  • Play a key role, in partnership with the CIO, to successfully execute and maintain our IT SOX compliance program.
  • Manage the current and future IT Infrastructure through the entire product lifecycle (e.g., architecture development & management, product support, training, continual systems improvement, and retirement).
  • Maintain and mature Honest’s IT Cyber Security program in support of information security, and privacy. You will play a critical role in the protection of Honest and its mission.
  • Audit and monitor IT Security Best Practices including: Firewall/Network Design, Anti-Virus Strategy, Platform Maintenance, Intrusion Detection Monitoring, System access ID and logon procedures and policies, file transfer protocols, procedure and practices, and identify and manage remediation efforts on vulnerabilities
  • Maintain a strong network within the IT community to identify new technologies, techniques, vendors, and people to support Honest’ s mission.
  • Measure and track performance to achieve target deliverables. Identify opportunities to improve department operational efficiency and staff productivity.
  • Establishes and maintains service level agreements (SLA's) to ensure the IT functions meet or exceed stakeholder expectations while adhering to compliance, financial reporting, and security controls.
  • Interact with senior management and external groups for planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of IT Infrastructure & Operations policies, procedures, and associated plans.
  • Support a range of cloud-based enterprise tools (SaaS) including Google Suite, Zoom, AD, Okta, AWS, and others.
  • Partners with business leaders to understand their needs, and works to ensure system investments are properly prioritized, scoped, delivered, and managed in support of business requirements.
  • Direct all IT M&A activities, ensuring effective and complete execution of all IT activities from due diligence thru integration.
  • Leads the 3-year IT Infrastructure Roadmap and system inventory, aligning them with the budget process.
  • Provides architectural guidance and oversight across projects and technology platforms, ensures guiding principles and technology standards are followed.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 10+ years of full-time work experience in an IT environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing an IT department
  • Minimum 3+ years of M&A experience with keen focus on IT Service Delivery
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of enterprise architecture in infrastructure, application, and data
  • Experience in managing both PC and Mac environments
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, data privacy practices, and laws including, SOX, and PCI as they relate to the management of IT Infrastructure in CPG environments
  • Experience with Information Security Frameworks (e.g. ISO, ISF, NIST, SOC 2, etc.)
  • Information security qualifications (CISM, CISSP, CRISC) are preferable
  • Sarbanes Oxley gap remediation experience
  • Hands on experience of Windows and Unix operating systems, active directory, security, and single sign-on
  • Hands on experience designing and managing reliable LAN and WAN infrastructure (including switching, routing, firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, MPLS), telephony solutions, cloud (AWS, OCI) operations and database systems
  • Solid technical background particularly in managing highly complex, multi-platform environments (servers, storage, networks, security, virtualization, systems monitoring and management)
  • Strong knowledge of current and trending security practices, regulations and technologies
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Extraordinary attention to detail along with the ability to think big-picture strategy
