As an Engineering Manager focused on data engineering, you will support a team of engineers building the data infrastructure and governance for the world's most effective treatment for chronic pain.
 
Your team members will support the Business Intelligence team, and create an ecosystem of self-service, enabling data management and automation tools that allow diverse engineering teams to autonomously make their data available for visualization, reporting, and compliance. You will have the opportunity to delve into code, but your priorities will be supporting your reports, defining data strategy, and building and executing the data roadmap.
 
To make sure there’s always just-enough valuable, shovel-ready work, you will work closely with stakeholders to prioritize the team backlog and establish goals for each sprint. To support their team’s continuous improvement, you will measure what matters most and lead blameless retros that convert insights into action.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

      • Develop and execute a robust, effective roadmap for addressing data management and governance in a HIPAA environment
      • Hire, coach and mentor data engineers through day-to-day challenges and guide them towards long term professional and technical growth
      • Motivate data engineers and ensure high performance through frequent feedback and identifying areas of improvement
      • Maintain a groomed backlog, prioritize sprint stories, and lead sprint retrospectives
      • Scale the team with a strong focus on experience, technical proficiency, and diversity
 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

      • 3+ years of experience leading and managing a data engineering team
      • 2+ years hands-on experience as a data engineer
      • Strong project management skills to ensure the team can sustainably deliver high quality work
      • Desire to learn, grow, and develop as the company grows
