Job Description

About The Role

Product Managers at Robinhood are responsible for leading teams to develop products that improve the everyday lives of our customers. You’ll work with experts in data, design, engineering, finance, research, and operations to bring ideas to life that will help us democratize finance for all.

As a Product Manager for Risk, you’ll build the capabilities and models that improve our ability to manage our financial risks. You will work closely with our finance team, data team, engineering team and other product teams (growth, brokerage, crypto, cash management, etc.) to drive forward progress on the company’s most important risk management initiatives. You will build functionality that enables us to measure, manage and project our liquidity risk, market risk, and credit risk. You will also be responsible for building functionality that positions us to do dynamic stress testing, detect anomalies, and suggest controls to reduce our financial risk. Your work will play a key role in establishing Robinhood as an industry leader in risk management while enabling us to take intelligent risks, introduce innovative new features, and deliver more value to our customers.

Your day-to-day will involve

  • Partnering with data science, engineering, and finance to identify and measure the financial risks we face from our existing products and features
  • Establishing a product vision and shared set of priorities across the team and the company, to meet the most important needs of our customers and reduce financial risk
  • Identifying sources of risk on the platform (risk map) and determining how key activities such as new account sign-ups, trades, ACH transfers, debit card transactions, etc. impact our risk level
  • Assessing how new product lines and features impact our risk profile and what steps we need to take to measure and mitigate financial risks
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ship and analyze meaningful, high-impact products, features and experiments
  • Measuring risk by product, feature, and type of financial risk across the platform and alerting partner teams when necessary

Some things we consider critical for this role

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree
  • 3+ years experience and demonstrated ability in building and shipping high-quality products
  • Prior experience in a finance, treasury, or risk management role
  • Strong data, quantitative, and analytical skills, including experience with big data and machine learning
  • Familiarity using research, experimentation and product analytics to guide decision making
  • Superior communication skills, including the ability to speak fluently about financial risks across all functions and levels within the organization
  • Ability to focus on a problem at hand while thoughtfully considering overarching company strategy
  • Passion for financial products and improving people’s financial lives
  • Motivation to be a self-starter

Bonus points

  • Computer Science major
  • Experience working in fintech or financial services and specifically at a brokerage

We’re looking for more growth-minded and collaborative people to be a part of our journey in democratizing finance for all. If you’re ready to give 100% in helping us achieve our mission—we’d love to have you apply even if you feel unsure about whether you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Robinhood, we're looking for people invigorated by our mission, values, and drive to change the world, not just those who simply check off all the boxes.

Robinhood promotes diversity and provides equal opportunity for all applicants and employees. We are dedicated to building a company that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We believe that the more inclusive we are, the better our work (and work environment) will be for everyone. Additionally, Robinhood provides reasonable accommodations for candidates on request and respects applicants' privacy rights. To review Robinhood's Privacy Policy please visit

Robinhood's benefits include generous time off, 401(k) participation with employer match, comprehensive health coverage, a health savings account (HSA), wellness benefits, backup childcare and education stipends (all benefits are subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility).
