Job Description

Synthego is looking for a Product Manager to optimize our fast-growing GMP business around CRISPR guide RNA and oligonucleotide production supporting our customers and partners in their clinical applications of CRISPR genome engineering.  This is a critical role for providing on-market product support for large-scale production services that is central to the success of our GMP business.  An ideal candidate is an analytical person who has great attention to detail and can proportionate responsibilities for large GMP opportunities based on revenue, market and clinical trends.  
 
 
This role will manage products and services for GMP genome editing platforms. A key part of this role is engaging with cross-functional teams on GMP workflows for continuous improvements to end-to-end CDMO services, conversion values and meeting product requirements for the optimal product profitability. This role will ensure that products and services are priced, positioned, placed and promoted appropriately, and arrive at the data by considering numerous factors such as intended customers, their workflow, their problems, how our products service their needs, competitive products, and how well the product fits with the company's business model.  This role reports to Sr Director of GMP Products and liaises closely with the Products and Platforms team, and will serve as central product champion for all aspects of GMP business.

What You'll Do

      • Support the execution and monitoring of market and product strategies for regulated CRISPR products by engaging market and customer research
      • Work cross-functionally with Project Management, Sales, Analytical Chemistry Development, Operations, and Quality to manage all aspects of product management, including pricing strategies from project feasibility/initiation/ planning/ to project closeout for each prospective GMP/GMP-Like project.
      • Streamline customer workflow, identify current challenges and competition, as well as propose needed solutions for current and future customers to ensure optimal close rate
      • Support Sales with prospective customers by providing detailed, customer-facing information about our GMP production capabilities
      • Assemble scientific data and write technical case studies, white papers, scientific posters, and technical presentations for industry conferences, in partnership with R&D and marketing content manager
      • Partner with Marketing to develop key sales collateral and awareness vehicles to drive demand for products.
      • Develop positioning and comprehensive marketing collateral content based on emerging market trends, including design and execution of messaging, promotional materials, sales tools, and proof sources
      • Work with QA to manage regulatory and compliance strategies with FDA, GMP, and other guidelines
      • Monitor and optimize all aspects of product business best-practices as part of multi-year road mapping to support aggressive growth of GMP business
 

About You

    • MS or equivalent degrees in life sciences.  PhD preferred.
    • 3+ years product management or technical product marketing experience in a life science or drug discovery company
    • Detail oriented and able to multitask in a dynamic environment with strong organizational skills
    • Experience in managing products sold into a regulated industry
    • Experience managing products manufactured in a highly regulated environment such as GMP or ISO 13485
    • Experience with long sales cycles and contract manufacturing relationships
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience presenting to large high level audiences
    • Self-driven problem-solver
    • Work well as part of a team and able to build consensus with peers and management

Preferred Education and Experience

      • Ph.D. in the Life Sciences
      • Hands on experience with CRISPR and genome engineering products, including custom oligo chemistry
