About Cutover

Cutover, the leader in work orchestration and observability, is the only platform that provides full organizational visibility into dynamic flows of work, bringing them out of the dark matter of the enterprise to enable teams to move quickly with confidence. Cutover eliminates outdated approaches like static-spreadsheets and weekend calls so teams can accomplish the work quickly and effectively—without the headache. Cutover's solution helps enterprises more effectively plan, orchestrate and audit the human and automated activities that drive critical events, such as technology releases, resilience testing, operational readiness and major incident recovery.

Job Description

At Cutover, we’re focused on helping Enterprise teams move quickly with confidence, so we’ve built the world’s first enterprise-wide work orchestration and observability platform that enables seamless human and machine collaboration. We’ve just announced a $35 million Series B financing round led by Eldridge (alongside existing investors Index Ventures, Sussex Place Ventures and Contour Ventures) and we’re thrilled to be embarking on our next exciting chapters of growth.

We’re scaling all of our teams at Cutover in a big way in 2021, so we’re making sure we build the operational infrastructure to enable us to scale in a sustainable manner. Our Executive team are keen to invest in building a world class in-house Legal function, so we’re delighted to start the search for a stellar Legal Counsel to join us and propel our team forward.

What will you be doing as our Legal Counsel here at Cutover?

  • Working closely with our VP Legal, you’ll be assisting with client and supplier negotiations, maintaining contract records and managing deadlines, conducting legal research. You’ll be negotiating an excitingly broad array of technology, data and intellectual property contracts for Cutover and third-parties.
  • Collaborating with various departments, you’ll be a trusted advisor and the go to individual for preparing complex bespoke drafting and advising in relation to the preparation of legal communications across teams..
  • You’ll provide a strong level of partnership to our go-to-market teams: collaborating closely with our VPs of Sales, Partnerships and Customer Success, providing expert counsel and ensuring legal is seen as a deal accelerator, rather than a bottleneck.

What would we like you to bring to the table?

  • We’re seeing this as a mid-senior level Legal Counsel role, so you’ll likely have 3-5 years post-qualification experience. We’re happy to consider qualified lawyers from the United Kingdom, USA (New York), Canada, Australia or New Zealand (provided you are on an unrestricted practising certificate in the relevant jurisdiction).
  • Ideally you’ll have played a Legal Counsel role in another quickly-growing technology business; bonus points if you’re coming from an Enterprise B2B SaaS company and you understand the complexity and nuance of navigating high-value contracts and lengthy deal cycles.
  • You’re fascinated by new tech and innovative ways of doing business - you’re not a back-office legal person, but someone who wants to be a genuine partner to the business (you can demonstrate how you’ve successfully partnered with key stakeholders from the broader business - not just the commercial side of things - in your previous roles).
  • We’d like you to provide a copy of your current practising certificate along with your application, please.

The opportunities you’ll have to learn & grow at Cutover...

  • You’ll be part of an early stage, rapidly scaling organization, with a meritocratic approach: we want to promote and retain our top performers.
  • Learning, development and personal growth are all important themes for us at Cutover; you’ll be empowered to build out your own learning plan, with budget given for courses, conferences and anything else that you feel is relevant to your growth here.
  • Safeguarding the mental health of our teams is paramount for us here at Cutover, especially after the past 18 months we’ve all had; if you’d like to, then you’ll be able to avail of multiple Cutover mental health initiatives, from fully subsidised therapy sessions, through to subscriptions to leading wellbeing platforms (and lots more in between).
  • We’ll provide you with a competitive compensation & perks/benefits package (top-tier private health insurance, a solid pension offering, plenty of support for remote-work, and much more), alongside allocated share options in a Series B business backed by a truly world-class investment team at Index Ventures & Eldrige: we’re all co-owners and are genuinely invested in Cutover’s future success.
